Stripe Panther bird

The Panther Birds ( Pardalotus, Pardalotidae ) are a genus and family in the order of perching birds ( Passeriformes ). They occur in eucalyptus and other forests in Australia and Tasmania.

Features

There are small birds with laterally compressed bodies. They are nine to twelve inches long. Their plumage is olive green, gray or brown and has the head on the wings and tail black, yellow or orange markings. The belly is pale, whitish or yellowish. In some species the females are darker.

Reproduction

Panther birds nest in soil or tree hollows. Your three to five eggs are incubated for 14 to 16 days. After about 25 days the young birds fledge.
