Pardon (ceremony)

The Pardon ( " asking for forgiveness " ) is a common, especially in Brittany term for a procession.

On the occasion of local saints' days, the faithful gather in the church and then follow the procession, held at the end point of most performances of the traditions as well as a folk festival.

The " sea - Pardon" pulls the amount to the port where the blessing of ships takes place.

On the occasion of Pardons and pilgrimages take place. Thus, the Breton Tro - Breizh ( " Bretagne- tour " ) is a more than 500 -kilometer pilgrimage of the faithful to the tombs of seven Breton founder saints in Dol- de-Bretagne, Saint- Malo, Saint -Brieuc, Tréguier, Saint-Pol de Leon, Quimper and Vannes dar.
