Parets del Vallès

Parets del Vallès (Spanish Parets del Vallés ) is a city in Catalonia near Barcelona with 18,580 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013) to about 9 km ². The city is traversed in a north-south direction from the river Tenes.

History

The city was first mentioned in 878, but only 904 vila under the name Parietes. It got its name in Catalan in the 12th century, probably because of the Roman walls that were found there ( Parets Catalan c. For walls, ceilings).
