Parliament House (Darwin)

The Parliament House in Darwin is the seat of the Parliament of Australia's Northern Territory.

History

Prior to the erection of the present Parliament building, the parliament of the Federal Territory was housed as the Post Office and the Chan Building in different buildings.

On August 2 In 1990, Nick Dondas, the then Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, the foundation stone. After four years, the Parliament House was completed and on 18 August 1994 it was finally by Bill Hayden, the then Governor-General of Australia, officially opened.
