Parma kermadecensis

Parma is a genus of damselfish (Pomacentridae ). It is related to the California coast closely with the Garibaldi fish ( Hypsypops rubicundus ).

Dissemination

The fish live in reefs of the cool waters in South Australia, Tasmania, the Northern New Zealand, Lord Howe Island, Norfolk Island and New Caledonia, where they feed on algae nursery.

Appearance

There are hochrückige, 15 to 29 centimeters long, mostly monochrome dark fish. Their fins bear from the base to the middle scales, a feature which is unique in the damselfish. The juveniles have a different from the adult fish, much more colorful coloring.

Parma - species reach very high for fish age. Examinations of the ears stones male specimens gave an age of 150 years. In tropical waters living damselfish reach an average age of 10 years.
