Partner dance

A pair of dance is a dance of two people - dancing together - usually men and women -and men's and lady. In contrast to individual and group dance a coordinated interplay between two people takes place here.

There are several ways to achieve a harmonious interplay of two dancers: By the previous rehearsal of a fixed choreography with a guide or only through leadership or by pure improvisation in free dance, where the partners face each other without contact. Underpass is understood that the leader (german Leader) the followers (English followers ) notifies by physical signals and temporally precise control impulses, which follows movement / dance moves next. Examples of couple dances are the Latin dances ( Cha -Cha -Cha, Samba, Rumba, Jive and Paso Doble ), the Standard dances ( Waltz, Waltz, Quickstep, Tango and Slow Foxtrot ), most Swing dances ( Lindy Hop, Balboa, Shag and Boogie Woogie, West Coast Swing ) and disco fox, foxtrot, rock ' n' roll, Argentine Tango and Salsa.

Dance pose

In most couple dances, there are one or more typical couple dancing pose. Here you can often distinguish between an "open" dance pose, in which only one or both hands to be taken and a "closed" dance pose, in which typically the right arm of the Lord is placed around the back of the lady.
