Pascal Dagnan-Bouveret

Pascal Adolphe Jean Dagnan, Dagnan - Bouveret called ( born January 7, 1852 in Paris, † July 3, 1929 in Quincey, Haute -Saône ) was a French painter.

He was the son of the tailor Bernard Dagnan. When his father emigrated to Brazil in 1868, he remained at his maternal grandfather, Henry Bouveret. This honor he later changed his name to " Dagnan - Bouveret ".

Dagnan - Bouveret entered as a pupil in the studio of Jean -Léon Gérôme, where he met Jean Lecomte du Nouy and also visited the class of Alexandre Cabanel. In 1876 he was awarded the second Prix de Rome. In the Paris Salon, he debuted in 1875. Among his honors include the 1900 election as a member of the Académie des beaux -arts in Paris and an honorary member ( Hon. RA) of the Royal Academy of Arts in London in 1908.

At the age of 77 years the painter Pascal Adolphe Dagnan - Bouveret died on 3 July 1929 in Quincey, Haute -Saône.
