Pass a Loutre

The pass -à- l'outre Wildlife Management Area is a wildlife sanctuary south of Plaquemines Parish at the mouth of the Mississippi River. The center is located about 18 miles southeast of Venice. The area is accessible only by water. It belongs to the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries and covers 465 km ².

The area is characterized by creeks and channels. It is known by its large water bird population and its Zugvögelpopulationen. The hunt is approved controlled. Large fish stocks and spawning grounds for a number of native fish make the area attractive for recreational fishing.
