Passo Fundo is a city with 185 882 inhabitants in the state of Rio Grande do Sul in southern Brazil. It is located about 280 km northwest of Porto Alegre. Adjacent are the places Pontão and Coxilha in the north, Mato Castelhano in the east, Marau in the south, Ernestina and Santo Antônio do Planalto in the southwest and Carazinho in the West. Originally Passo Fundo was part of Munizips Cruz Alta.
