History

The Patch Barracks, which were called to 1967 Kurmärker barracks were built from 1936 to 1938 for the Panzer Regiment 7 of the Wehrmacht. After the Second World War, the U.S. occupation forces took over the area. The base is named after Alexander M. Patch, the first commander of the Americal Division and the U.S. 7th Army.

A 96 -meter-high radio tower, the apparent already made ​​the Patch Barracks from afar, was demolished in the spring of 2009. In the complex there is still a radio mast from precast concrete.
