Path of the Weakening is the third album by the death metal band " Deeds of Flesh". It is also the first release by Erik Lindmarks and Jacoby Kingston's music label Unique Leader Records.

Background

The cover artwork was created by Jon Zig. The band swapped Brad Palmer against a founding member Joey Heaslet, also the band took another second guitarist (Jim Tkacz ) on. This way the sound of the album is much denser. Furthermore, the guitars were in contrast to the previous album, even more tuned down, giving the music a dark mood. The album sold approximately 16,000 times and is to Crown of Souls the most successful album of the band.

Text content

Similar to the previous album, is also Path of the Weakening a concept album about a historical case of cannibalism. The so-called Donner Party, a trek of mostly ethnic German settlers was on his way through the Sierra Nevada, where they were surprised by the onset of winter. For weeks, people had to starve and were able to survive in part only by cannibalism.
