Patricia Piccinini

Patricia Piccinini (born 1965 in Freetown, Sierra Leone) is an Australian artist who tries with the help of animal sculptures that raise ethical questions.

At seven, she came to Australia and now lives in Melbourne. In the years 1985-88 she earned a Bachelor of Arts ( Economic History ) at the Australian National University, in 1989-91, the Bachelor of Arts ( Painting) at the Victorian College of the Arts, where they then also occasionally taught.

Her sculptures, she used silicone, plastic and digital photography. It creates artificial animals with whom they want to point in the information age on the fusion of science, nature and technology.

She has participated in numerous exhibitions around the world, including in 2003 at the Venice Biennale. Your 150 -cm-wide plastic idyll with cute monsters was there to audience favorites.
