Patricia Shaw (novelist)

Patricia Shaw ( born 1929 in Melbourne, Australia) is an Australian non-fiction and fiction writer and now lives in Queensland on the Gold Coast of Australia.

Patricia Shaw studied history and wrote as assistant to the Governor of Queensland reports and short stories. Since 1983 she directs the Department of " oral history " in the parliamentary library and wrote two books about the colonization of Australia.

It was not until the age of 52 she decided to write novels. Among her many novels that are family sagas from the time of settlement of the Australian outback most and which earned her the title " chronicler of Australia ", the international bestseller "River of the Sun" are (1991, German solar fire ) and " The Opal Seekers "(1996, dt burning dream).

Patricia Shaw is also a dedicated animal rights activist and campaigns especially for the native birds.
