Patrick Bergin

Patrick Bergin ( born February 4, 1951 in Dublin, Ireland) is an Irish actor.

Life

Bergin is the son of a senator in the Irish Parliament. During his school years, he began to take acting lessons. His drama studies, he was able to conclude with a bachelor's degree. Before starting his acting career Bergin worked as a mathematics teacher.

He made his debut in a small supporting role in the British television drama Those Glory Glory Days from the year 1984. His most famous role was that of the tyrannical husband in The enemy in my bed with Julia Roberts in the year 1991. For this role he was for a Saturn Award in the category of Best Supporting Actor nomination. In the TV movie Robin Hood - A Life of Richard the Lionheart (1991 ), he played the lead role of Robin Hood, at his side played under other Jürgen Prochnow and Uma Thurman. For his role in the television drama Morphine and Dolly Mixtures ( 1990) he won in 1992 the Welsh BAFTA Award ( BAFTA Cymru Award).

Bergin is married to Paula Frazier since 1992. His brother Emmet Bergin is also active as an actor ( the journalist ). In addition, he is also occasionally musically active as a singer and was able to land with the song geezer a top 10 hit in Ireland.
