Patrick Hürlimann

Patrick Hürlimann ( born July 9, 1963) is a former Swiss curler. He played for the Curling Club Lausanne Olympique on the position of the skip.

Hürlimann took part in the European Championships three times and six times at the World Championships. He won three World Cup medals. 1989 in Milwaukee Silver, 1996 in Hamilton and 1999 in Saint John each bronze. He achieved his greatest success at the Olympic Winter Games in Nagano in 1998: Together with Patrik Lörtscher, Daniel Müller, Perren Diego and Dominic Andres, he won the gold medal.

After the 2002 World Cup Hürlimann announced his retirement from professional sports. He was then to 2006 Swiss national coach. In the 2008 World Cup, he played in the team temporarily St Gallen bear on the position of the third, however, did not come as a disappointing eleventh place out.

Hürlimann a member of the Executive Council of the World Curling Federation and transfers their Marketing and Communications Commission. He developed the scoring system for determining the curling world rankings.
