Patrick Joseph McGrath

Patrick Joseph McGrath ( born June 11, 1945 in Dublin) is Bishop of San Jose in California.

Life

Patrick Joseph McGrath received on 7 June 1970, the ordained priest for the Archdiocese of San Francisco.

Pope John Paul II appointed him on December 6, 1988 Auxiliary Bishop of San Francisco, as well as Titular Bishop of Allegheny. The Archbishop of San Francisco, John Raphael Quinn, gave him then, on 25 January 1989, the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were Bishop Emeritus of Santa Rosa, Mark Joseph Hurley, as well as the Bishop of Fairbanks, Michael Joseph Kaniecki.

On 30 June 1998, the appointment would Coadjutor of the Diocese of San Jose in California. With the resignation of Pierre Ines Duma on 27 November 1999 McGrath joined its successor as Bishop of San Jose in California.
