Patrick Stopford, 9th Earl of Courtown

James Patrick Montagu Burgoyne Winthrop Stopford, 9th Earl of Courtown ( born March 19, 1954), 1957-1975, he was the courtesy title Viscount Stopford, is a British politician and peer. He belonged in 1999 to the 92 peers who remained after the House of Lords Act in the House of Lords. He is representing the Conservative Party.

His parents were James Stopford, 8th Earl of Courtown and Patricia Winthrop. He attended Eton College and the Berkshire College of Agriculture, later the Royal Agricultural College in Cirencester. The paternal title he inherited in 1975. Since 1985 He is married to Elizabeth Dunnett, daughter of IR Dunnett. They have a son and two daughters, James Richard Stopford, Viscount Stopford, Lady Rosie Stopford and Lady Poppy Stopford.
