Patrick Wright, Baron Wright of Richmond

Patrick Richard Henry Wright, Baron Wright of Richmond GCMG ( born June 28, 1931) is a British diplomat.

Career

Wright from 1977 to 1979 he was ambassador to Luxembourg from 1979 to 1981 in 1984 to 1986 in Syria and Saudi Arabia. From 1986 to 1991 he was Permanent State Secretary at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. Wright was raised on February 10, 1994 Life Peer.

Family

He is married since 1958 with Virginia Anne Gaffney, with whom he has two sons and one daughter ( Olivia ). Olivia's husband, Ambassador Simon McDonald, was by 2010 a foreign policy adviser to Gordon Brown.
