Paul B. Fay

Paul Burgess "Red" Fay Jr. ( born July 8, 1918 in San Francisco, California, † 23 September 2009 in Woodside, California ) was an American government official and deputy of February 16, 1961 to January 15, 1965 Navy Secretary the United States ( Under Secretary of the Navy ).

Paul Fay was from 2 to November 28, 1963 Acting Navy Secretary under President John F. Kennedy as successor to the retiring Fred Korth. Fay and Kennedy were friends in the United States Navy since their time together. A few days after Kennedy's assassination on November 22, 1963, he resigned his interim office and returned to the post of Under Secretary. His successor as Secretary of State was Paul Nitze.

In 1966 he wrote the bestseller ' The Pleasure of His Company ' on Kennedy.
