Paul Baskerville
Paul Baskerville ( born March 3, 1961) is a British journalist working in Germany and radio host.
Born in Manchester music journalist played as a teenager in the punk band "The Limit" and came to Germany in 1980. In 1981 he returned to music programs of the NDR The club and music for young people posts about the music scene of his hometown and was an expert on Manchester bands such as Joy Division repeatedly studio guest.
From 1982 Baskerville got his own weekly time slot ( first Thursdays 16:00 bis 17:00 clock clock, then Fridays 13:20 bis 14:30 clock clock ) in the daily shipment music for young people, running on NDR 1. In this show, he described, often still completely unknown music before from the fields of Punk, Independent, New Wave as well as similar styles. Its shipments fell initially on by his then still strongly marked and well-maintained to this day British accent, but especially delivered by a very personal kind of moderation, in which he expressed his own experiences and feelings about the pieces, as well as interesting notes and background information. Added to this was his typical British humor. This type of moderation had hitherto uncommon in Germany, stylistically they remembered most closely to the radio broadcasts of Alan Bangs on the transmitters BFBS or WDR.
In the context of the various restructuring of the Norddeutscher Rundfunk Baskerville got over the years, various programs and broadcast slots. Also for the Radio Bremen, Germany radio and DT64 he produced programs. So far produced two reports for the TV station ARTE. Furthermore, his monthly music column bugging appeared from 2002 to 2009 in the weekly Friday.
Currently Baskerville broadcasts weekly on NDR Info in the night from Saturday to Sunday 00:05 to 2:00 as part of the broadcast nightclub, and at irregular intervals in the shipment skirt, et cetera of the Germany radio.
