Paul Chemetov

Paul Chemetov ( born September 6, 1928 in Paris ) is a French architect and town planner.

Life

Chemetov studied architecture at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux- Arts ( ENSA ) in Paris. After his graduation in 1959 he started his own business. He worked on numerous projects in the field of urban planning and architecture and has large public projects designed and numerous social housing in the suburbs of Paris.

Chemetov occurred in 1961, which was founded last year by Jacques Allégret agency Atelier d' Urbanisme et d'Architecture (AUA ) a. From 1968 to 1972 he was professor of industrial design at the Ecole d'Architecture de Strasbourg. In 1976 he represented France at the Venice Biennale. Since 1983, together with Borja Huidobro Chemetov has an architecture studio in Paris.

From 1968 to 1972 he was professor of industrial design at the Ecole d'Architecture de Strasbourg, and since 1989 at the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées and 1993/94 as a visiting professor at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne.

He is the father of landscape architect Alexandre Chemetoff.

In July 2006 Chemetov was commissioned by the Conseil Général de Vendée with the construction of the " Vendespace " in the park of Mouilleron -le- Captif in La Roche- sur- Yon, a new sports center with a total area of ​​18,000 m².
