Paul Dundas

Paul Dundas (* May 23, 1952 ) is a British Indologist at the University of Edinburgh and Director of Asian Studies there. His work focuses on classical Sanskrit literature and Mittelindoarische linguistics. With his work on Jainism, he is regarded as one of the leading researchers in the field. He leads the Pali Text Society.

Among his current activities (as of 2012) include the translation of Sisupala Vadha of Magha, an annotated translation of Yaśovijayas Dvatrimsaddvatrimsika, a study of the historical representation of the mantra Pancanamaskara with reference to Yaśovijayas Arhadgita as well as a systematic presentation of the texts of Haribhadra Suri.
