Paul Hersey

Paul Hersey ( born January 26, 1931 † 18 December 2012) is an American behavioral scientist and entrepreneur. He is known primarily for the design Situational Leadership. Hersey and Ken Blanchard published Management of Organization Behavior.

Life

Hersey taught on the training and development in leadership, management and sales. In addition to his teaching, he was a consultant to the industry, government and military organizations.

Hersey was a Distinguished Professor of Leadership Studies at Nova Southeastern University. He was a former member of the faculty of Northern Illinois University, California State University, Chico, University of Arkansas and Ohio University. He was also in the roles of the Chairman of the Department of Management and Dean of the School of Business. He was also Project Director served on the Industrial Relations Center, University of Chicago, Training Director at Kaiser Aluminum & Chemical Company, and head of department at Sandia Corporation.

Career

Hersey's works are Management of Organizational Behavior: Utilizing Human Resources, Organizational Change through effective management and sales: A Behavioral Science Approach. His most recent books are The Situational Leader, Situational Selling, Situational Service: Customer Care for the Practitioner and situation analysis parenting.

Hersey designed the Isolobella lecture series at Alliant International University in San Diego, hosted by SYMLOG. He has at various institutions, including Doctorate of Education at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, MBA courses at the Universities of Arkansas and Chicago and a Bachelor of Science Degree obtained from Seton Hall University.

In the 1960s, Hersey founded the Center for Leadership Studies, which offers training in Situational Leadership, and Thematic coaching, parenting and selling.
