Paul-Louis Halley

Paul -Louis Halley (* 1934, † 6 December 2003 in Oxford) was a French entrepreneur.

Life

Together with his father and brother he founded in 1961 the French retail company Promodès, which later merged with Carrefour. After the merger, he held a minority stake in Carrefour. According to the American Forbes Magazine Robert Halley was in 2003 the richest Frenchmen. Halley was killed with his wife and his pilot on December 6, 2003, when the landing approach to the airport London Oxford his Socata TBM 700 went into a tailspin. The cause of the accident could not be clarified by the Air Accidents Investigation Branch.
