Paul Martin (Scottish politician)

Paul Martin ( born March 17, 1967 in Glasgow ) is a Scottish politician and member of the Labour Party.

Martin attended the All Saints Secondary School and the Barmulloch College in Glasgow. From 1993 he was a member of the Council of Glasgow.

Scottish Parliament

In the Scottish Parliament elections in 1999 Martin was a candidate for the constituency of Glasgow Springburn and won the mandate well ahead of the candidate SNP. He subsequently moved into the newly created Scottish Parliament. In the parliamentary elections in 2003 and 2007, he defended his position. As part of the constituency of the 2011 revision of the constituency Glasgow Springburn was dissolved. Large parts went up in the newly created constituency of Glasgow Provan, for Martin was a candidate in the parliamentary elections of 2011. By a wide margin he beat out the competition and retained his parliamentary seat.
