Paul McGillion

Paul McGillion ( born January 5, 1969 in Paisley, Scotland, United Kingdom) is a Canadian actor.

Life

McGillion was born in Scotland and raised in Canada. His family emigrated when he was two years old, and made it a stopover in Ireland since McGillion's father is Irish. As McGillion was eleven, his family moved to a little more than three years back to Scotland.

He later studied biology and sports to become a teacher and acting as a minor subject. During this time he also dedicated himself to the struggle. After graduating, he began in Toronto to teach drama and go to auditions. In the years 1998 and 1999 he taught at the prestigious Vancouver Film School.

He received international reputation for his role as Dr. Carson Beckett in the television series Stargate Atlantis.
