Paul Milgrom

U.S. economist Paul Robert Milgrom ( born April 20, 1948 in Detroit ) has taught since 1987 at the Stanford University in California, where he had already conducted research as a doctoral student. He is also Director of the Institute for Theoretical Economics. His scientific work focuses on auctions, incentive schemes (such as contracts) and the creation of markets where it comes to the allocation of donated organs to patients, for example. Milgrom deal with these issues mainly from auction- theoretical point of view, but is also used as an expert in corresponding practical problems.
