Paul Wilwertz

Paul Wilwertz ( born April 7, 1905 in Wolz, † December 28, 1979 in Luxembourg ) was a Luxembourgian politician of the LSAP.

In 1926 he joined the Letzebuerger Aarbechterpartei. From 1930 to 1932 he was president of the ASSOSS. He joined the civil service and in 1938 was a close associate of the Labour Minister Pierre Krier. From 1945 to 1951 he was director of the Office National du Travail. In the party he was from 1945 to the Management Committee, from 1948 to 1949 he was Vice - President from 1955 to 1958 and the LSAP. While the success of the party 1951, he was elected to the Chamber. In 1954 he was appointed Commissaire général of Economics, 1957 State and 1958 Member of the European Commission.

He was from 1964 to 1969 mayor of the city of Luxembourg and in 1968 was again a deputy from 1969 to 1974 and was Vice President of the Chamber. He was then twice a member of the State Council, 1954-1954, and from 1960 until 1968. Wilwertz Paul died on 28 December 1979 at the age of 74 years.
