Paul Young

Paul Anthony Young ( born 17 January 1956 in Luton, England) is an English singer and songwriter.

Career

Young was for many years a member of the band Q-tips and in 1983 finally succeeded as a soloist. Did you get the Marvin Gaye - Wherever I Lay My cover and the accompanying album No Parlez, produced by Laurie Latham, he reached number 1 in the UK. More hits followed. End of 1984, Young was a member of the band-aid project.

Due to vocal problems to Young was forced to withdraw from the middle of 1987 for a few years from show business. After a major appearance at Nelson Mandela's birthday concert, he could occasionally re-enter the charts in the spring of 1990.

At the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert in 1992 in London 's Wembley Stadium, he sang with the remaining Queen Radio Ga Ga. musicians the song

Since 1993, he is next to his solo career, also a singer in the Tex-Mex band Los Pacaminos.

In 1995 he took on the title for his album Losing Sleep Voices Vangelis.

In 2005, he was together with Mike d'Abo and Paul Jones of Manfred Mann on tour.

Private

Paul Young is married to Stacey Smith and has three children, Levi (* 1987), Layla (* 1994) and Grady Cole ( * 1996). He has two siblings, Mark and Joanne.

As a professional, he learned auto mechanic at Vauxhall Motors in Luton.

Awards

He was three times with the Brit Award (1984: British breakthrough act, 1985: British male solo artist and 1986: British Video - Every Time You Go Away ).
