Paulin Kouabénan N'Gnamé

Paulin Kouabénan N'Gnamé ( born May 12, 1962 in Mérékou, Costa de Marfil, Ivory Coast, † 21 March, 2008 Méagui, Gnamangui, Côte d'Ivoire) was a bishop of the Diocese of San Pedro -en- Côte d'Ivoire in the Ivory Coast ( République de Côte d' Ivoire).

Life

Paulin Kouabénan N'Gnamé studied after finishing school in Bouaké at the seminary in Anyama philosophy and theology. He received on 6 August 1989, the priestly ordination in Bondoukou by Alexandre Kouassi, Bishop of Bondoukou, and was first priest in his hometown Mérékou. From 1989 to 1993 he was vicar in the Cathedral Sainte -Odile de Bondoukou. From 1993 to 1997, he completed a doctoral degree in canon law at the Pontifical Urban University in Rome. From 1997 to 1998 he was a curate in the parish church of Notre- Dame de Fatima from Bondoukou. From 1998 to 2001 he was professor in Anyama. He was vicar general of the diocese Bondoukou 2001-2007.

2007 Pope Benedict XVI appointed him. Bishop of San Pedro -en- Côte d' Ivoire. The episcopal ordination on 12 May 2007 gave him the Archbishop of Gagnoa Barthélémy Djabla; Co-consecrators were the Bishop of Bondoukou Félix Kouadjo and the Bishop of Abengourou Bruno Kouamé. The celebration of his inauguration took place with great sympathy of the population; President Laurent Gbagbo was represented by his wife Simone Gbagbo Ehivet.

He died a natural death.
