Pavel Poc

Pavel Poc ( born May 26, 1964 in Havlíčkův Brod) is a Czech Social Democratic politician and Member of the European Parliament. He belongs to such as all members of the Česká strana sociálně demokratická the fraction of the S & D.

Life

Pavel Poc studied biology at the Charles University in Prague, where he graduated in 1988 with a doctorate. He then worked until 1992 as a research associate in the ethological laboratory of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. Subsequently, he worked in the town of Marianske Lazne, first as a representative of the ecological city, from 1993 as head of the Environmental Agency from 1998 to 2002 he was first deputy mayor of the city. 2003 to 2009 he was managing director of the urban garden and park complex society.

Pavel Poc entered 1997 in the CSSD and since 1998 vice-chairman of the local branch of Marienbad, since 2000 Member of the Central Executive Committee and since 2001 member of the party executive. In 2009 he was selected for the CSSD to the European Parliament. He is a member of the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety and the delegation to the commission at the EU-Russia Parliamentary Cooperation.
