Career

Pavlo Ishchenko began as a teenager in Kherson with the boxes. His main trainer is Oleg Ishchenko. At a size of 1.70 meters, it always started in the light weight category. In his first year in international Boxgeschehen he achieved a great success. He won the World Championship the " Cadets " in Baku in 2007 in the weight category up to 48 kg bronze medal. In the semi finals of this championship he lost it against Apodiresei Ciprian from Romania. In 2008, he was even more successful, because he was in Plovdiv Junior European champion in the weight class up to 52 kg body weight. In the final he defeated while Dimitar Krastev from Bulgaria convincingly on points ( 18:5 ).

In 2009 he was Ukrainian youth champion in the weight class up to 54 kg. But with the European Youth Championship 2009 in Szczecin he was defeated in the same weight class in his first battle against the Scots Joe Ham close on points ( 5:6 ), so he left and finished only 17th place. In 2010, Pavlo Ishchenko, unsuccessfully, at the Youth World Championships in Baku in part. He lost there in his first fight against Arthur Bril of Germany convincingly on points ( 1:12 ), which he left and landed on the 33rd.

Pavlo Ishchenko but not lost, despite these setbacks, the confidence in his skills. In 2011 he was Ukrainian champion in the seniors (Elite) featherweight for the first time. In the final, he defeated the defending champion Ivan doing Ilnizki on points (4-2 ). He just made tremendous progress this year, showing himself that he in Trabzon featherweight with five won fights fought his way to the launch permissions for these Olympic Games at the qualification tournament for the 2012 Olympics. In London, however, he had no luck, because he lost there against Joseph Diaz from the United States to points ( 9:19 ) and thus retired. He thus occupied with all the losers of the first round along the 17th Place.

In October 2012 Pawlo Ishchenko Ukrainian champion at lightweight. In the final he defeated while Dimitri Chernyak by points ( 15:9 ). Also at the European Championships 2013 in Minsk, he started at lightweight. He stood there in great shape before and was with wins over Sean McComb, Ireland (3-0 RS), Gytis Vaitkus, Lithuania (3-0 ), Charles Flynn, Scotland (3-0), Dimitri Polyansky, Russia ( 2: 1) and Vazgen Safarjants, Belarus (3-0 RS) the new European Champion. Were a decision of the AIBA in Minsk, the controversial " points machinery " is not used, but the winners were selected by judges after a 10 -point system per round.
