Pavol Hammel

Pavol Hammel ( born December 7, 1948 in Bratislava) is a Slovak composer, singer, musician and producer.

He comes from a musical family. To the music his father, a violinist of the Slovak National Theatre brought him. In his youth he studied violin. As a member of a railwayman Orchestra he played folk music, classical and modern dance songs.

At the age of sixteen he began playing guitar, which became his main instrument. In 1963 he founded the group Prudy ( German: current). The first song of the pop group " Spievam si Piesen " ( I sing a song ) was released in 1965. Two years later, Marián Varga began playing in the group. Lyricist of the band were Kamil Peteraj and Boris Filan, which Pavol Hammel works to this day. Since 1972 Hammel took along with Marián Varga on five separate albums.

In 1994 he founded the agency Rock Pop Bratislava, in 1999, another called Rock Production Bratislava, with whom he continued to work until today. Otherwise, Pavol Hammel produced with the Slovak music company Opus.

In 1978 the price of mutton in the Bratislava Lyra silver and bronze in 1988. In 2009, he was honored in Nitra with Pavel Strauss Prize for the year 2008.

In 1976, Pavol Hammel had graduated from the Law Faculty of the Comenius University in Bratislava. He is married and has two daughters.
