Redaction criticism

Apostle Franklin D. Richards published in 1851 as a mission president in the UK a compilation of various revelations and the Prophet Joseph Smith, who had previously appeared in the Mormon newspapers in the U.S. headings to make them available in England. He called the assemblage of (Mt 13,46 LUT) Pearl of Great Price ( engl. Pearl of Great Price ).

Parts of the book of Moses were added in 1878. Overlaps with the Doctrine and Covenants were taken out in 1902. With these changes, the book has been divided into chapters and verses. Footnotes have been added as well. An index has been added in 1921. In April 1976 two revelations were added. However, these were moved in 1979 as sections 137 and 138 of the Doctrine and Covenants.
