Pearse Wyse

Pearse Wyse ( born March 2, 1928 in Cork, † April 28, 2009 ) was an Irish politician.

In 1960, Wyse was first elected to the city council of Cork ( Cork City Council). Five years later he was elected to Dáil Éireann, where he served from 1965 to 1992. Only when Teachta Dala for Fianna Fáil, then for the Progressive Democrats. During the 21st Dáil Éireann Wyse held on 5 July 1977 to 1 January 1978 the post of parliamentary secretary in the Ministry of Finance. After that he was from January 1, 1978 to December 11, 1979 Minister of State in the Ministry of Finance. 1985 was one of the founding members of the Wyse Progressive Democrats, for henceforth he was sitting in the Dáil. After he no longer contested the election to the 27th Dáil Éireann in 1992, Wyse remained until 1999, when he retired, active in the Cork City Council. During almost 40 years as a councilor he had twice held the office of Lord Mayor of Cork ( Lord Mayor of Cork), namely from 1967 to 1968 and from 1974 to 1975.

Wyse died on 28 April 2009 at the age of 81 years at St. Finbarr 's Hospital in Cork. He was married and had a son.
