Pechenga Bay

The Petschengafjord (Russian Губа Печенга ( Guba Pečenga ), norway. Petsjengafjorden, Petsjengabukta or Petsamofjorden ) is a 17 km long and 1-2 km wide fjord in the Murmansk Oblast in Russia.

It lies about 25 km from the Norwegian border. The river empties into the Pechenga Fjord end. There is also the city of Pechenga. On the west bank, at half the length of the fjord, is Liinakhamari (Finnish Liinahammari ). This place was in the period from 1920 to 1944, when the area was part of the Pechenga Finnish territory, the only Finnish ice-free port.
