Pediatrics

The Pediatrics (Greek παιδιατρική [ τέχνη ] paidiatriké [ téchne ] " the pediatric [Arts] " from παῖς pais "child" and ἰατρός iatros " doctor " on German paediatrics ) is the study of the development of the child and adolescent organism, its diseases and their treatment. The term Pediatrics is today replaced in official usage by the designation Child and Adolescent Medicine, the physicians themselves are often colloquially as " pediatrician " means. Introduced the concept of Pediatrics first in English as " Pediatrics " by Sir William Osler in 1880.

Training

The training and recognition as a specialist in child and adolescent medicine is regulated country-specific.
