Pediculosis
The pediculosis ( Pediculosis ) is a parasitic disease in which there is an infestation of the skin by the head or body lice. It is transferable and uncomfortable because of the itching caused by the bites, but not dangerous.
Disease
The pediculosis is classified as common and epidemic disease, especially in children's communities. It occurs worldwide regardless of the climatic zone.
Therapy
For the treatment of pediculosis the drugs hexachlorocyclohexane, malathion, permethrin, pyrethrin and crotamiton are used in the form of shampoos, gels, lotions, ointments and sprays. After the treatment with the drugs is a further treatment with a water - vinegar mixture is advantageous. This mixture, consisting of 1/2 cup water and 1 /2 cup of vinegar is best to distribute every day on his head, because the young can not survive long because of the acid. In addition, however, the nits ( lice eggs ) must be removed with the fingers from the hair.
