Pedro Berruguete
Pedro Berruguete (* 1450 in Paredes de Nava, Palencia province today, † 1504) was a Spanish painter. It is attributed to a transition period between the Gothic and the Renaissance. Pedro Berruguete was born in Paredes de Nava, Spain. In 1480 he traveled to Italy and worked on Federico da Montefeltro Court in Urbino. Here he saw some works by Melozzo da Forlì. In 1482 he returned to Spain. He worked in several cities, including Seville, Toledo and Ávila. Among his descendants is one of the major sculptors Alonso Berruguete.
