Pedro Olea

Pedro María Olea Retolaza (* June 30 1938 in Bilbao ) is a Spanish film director.

Life

Olea was a student at the official Spanish Escuela de Cinematografía de Madrid. Beginning of his career he directed documentaries; his first feature films were comedies. In many of his now about 25 movies are dubious or characters with double lives in the center.

For El maestro de esgrima 1993 he received the Goya Award.
