Pedro Pacheco

Pedro Miguel Pacheco Salgadinho Melo ( * June 27, 1984 in Ponta Delgada, Azores ) is a Canadian soccer player. Since 2010 he plays for the Portuguese club CD Santa Clara.

The defensive midfielder who was born in Portugal has spent Canadian ancestors and his youth in the North American country.

Club career

Pedro Pacheco comes from Ponta Delgada from the Azores island of São Miguel. His career as a footballer, he joined the local club Vitória Clube do Pico da Pedra. In 2003 he moved to the second division of Portugal to CD Santa Clara, but was there only used twice during the 2003/2004 season.

In the following three years he played for two clubs SC Lusitânia and CD Operário in the third Portuguese league. Then moved back to Santa Clara. There he was part of the core team of the club.

Pacheco left the Azores in 2009 and moved to CD Nacional. But he could not enforce there and returned a year later to Santa Clara back.

National

Due to its origin Pacheco is eligible to play for the Canadian national soccer team. He was appointed for the two friendlies against Argentina and Venezuela in the squad of the national team on May 14, 2010. In the match against Argentina he made ​​his international debut.
