Pelican Rapids is a city in Otter Tail County, Minnesota, United States. In 2000, the city had 2374 inhabitants.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 6.9 km ², of which 6.8 km ² of land and 0.1 km ² omitted ( = 1.87 %) to water. The Pelican River flows through Pelican Rapids.

Demography
At the time of the census of 2000, the city occupied in 2374 people. The population density was 348.8 people per km ². There were 962 housing units at an average 141.8 per km ². The population of Pelican Rapids consisted of 60.43 % White, 0.72 % African American, 1.93% Native American, 1.58 % Asian, 1.04 % Pacific Islander, 6.76 % reported other races, and 4.54 % from two or more races. 23.59 % of the population to be Hispanic or Latino of any race.
The inhabitants of the city were distributed among 884 households out of which 33.1% were living in children under 18 years. 50.3% married couples living together, 7.7 % had a female householder with no husband present, and 36.8 % were non-families. 33.5 % of households were made up of individuals and someone lived in 19.2 % of all households aged 65 years or older.
