Pelly Crossing, Yukon

Pelly Crossing is a place in the Yukon Territory with 296 inhabitants ( 2006).

It is located 282 km northwest of Whitehorse and 254 km southeast of Dawson. The Klondike Highway crosses the Pelly River at Pelly Crossing.

The place at the beginning of the 20th century began to develop as a ferry on the Pelly River and as a supply depot for the highway workers. Today, mainly Indians of the Selkirk First Nation live in Pelly Crossing, who were relocated after the construction of the highway there to simplify administration.
