People's Republic of Mozambique

The People's Republic of Mozambique (Portuguese República Popular de Moçambique ), was a Marxist -oriented government and existed on 25 June 1975 to 1 December 1990 as the successor state of the Portuguese Overseas Province of Mozambique. Today, it is the Republic of Mozambique.

History

After the final independence from Portugal in 1975, the People's Republic of Mozambique committed shortly afterwards under the Front for the Liberation of Mozambique ( " Frelimo ", which was led by President Samora Moises Machel ) brutal in the so-called Mozambican civil war with the Mozambique National Resistance ( " Renamo " ) - a conservative anti-communist guerrilla movement initially funded by Rhodesia now Zimbabwe, whose financial help and support but was later replaced in the group by South Africa.
