Peppi & Kokki

Peppi en Kokki ( German: Peppi and Kokki ) was a comedy duo in a Dutch television series of the same name, which by Gerard van Essen ( the thick Peppi ) and Herman Kortekaas ( the thin Kokki ) was played. Directed by Nan de Vries, who was also involved in the screenplay.

Peppi en Kokki was inspired by Laurel & Hardy. Since the series, however, intended mainly for children, was the slapstick humor on much simpler level. As with the first Laurel & Hardy films it was silent movies, but were with piano music and a voice-over, which clarified the action on the screen provided. The harmless stories revolve around two sailors, the experience in search of a livelihood small adventure.

The episodes were sent from 1973 to the children's program of the Dutch Katholieke Radio Omroep ( KRO ). By 1978 over 78 episodes appeared. Because of the popularity of the series and Peppi Kokki coated with children's theater performances around the country. 1976 also appeared a movie called Peppi en Kokki bij de marine.

Trivia

The theme tune was used in 1996 in the Happy Hardcore hit " Hakke & Zage " from Gabber Piet.
