Peps Persson
Peps Persson (born 20 December 1946 in Tjörnarp; actually Per -Åke Tommy Persson ) is a Swedish blues and reggae musician from Tjörnarp in the community Höör in Skåne. Most of his pieces he performed in Swedish and gained through his Scanian dialect popularity. At the beginning of his career as a musician he took some albums in English.
Career
Persson's career began in 1975 heavily influenced by the blues. Persson made himself a name as a translator of many English blues and reggae songs into Swedish. He interpreted among other songs by Muddy Waters, Elmore James and Bob Marley in Swedish new.
After 1975, he turned away from the blues and published some more reggae pieces. Some of his songs, such as " falsk matematik " and " Hogh standard", also had political content and were part of the Swedish music movement ( Progg ).
