Pera-Museum

The Pera Museum ( Pera Müzesi ) is an art museum in Istanbul's Tepebaşı. It was founded by the Suna and Inan Kıraç Foundation 2005 ( Suna Kıraç is the daughter of the Turkish Industrialists Vehbi Koç ). The collection is housed in the former Bristol Hotel, which was designed in 1893 by architect Achille Manoussos.

The collection and permanent exhibitions

The museum has three permanent exhibitions: the collection of Anatolian Weights and measures; Kütahya tiles and ceramics and oriental art. The Oriental collection includes more than three hundred paintings, including works by European artists from the 17th to the early 19th century, which were inspired by the Ottoman world.

Planned expansion

The Suna - Inan and - Kıraç Foundation commissioned architect Frank Gehry to build a new cultural complex on the site of TRT Headquarters in Tepebaşı. The planned complex will Suna Kıraç Cultural Center hot ( Suna Kıraç Kültür Merkezi ).
