Percy Sledge
Percy Sledge ( born November 25, 1941 in Leighton, Alabama) is an American rhythm and blues and soul singer.
Career
The singer celebrated primarily in the second half of the 1960s successes with soulful love ballads between country and soul, which he presented with nasal intonation.
Percy Sledge worked in his youth in the fields of Leighton, and later as a nurse in Colbert County Hospital in Sheffield. The mid-1960s he was traveling on the weekends with his group Esquires Combo in the southeastern U.S. and worked during the week in the hospital.
