Perieți, Ialomița

Perieţi [ periet͡s ʲ ] is a municipality in the district of Ialomiţa in Wallachia, Romania.

Geographical location

The municipality is located in Perieţi Bărăgan - plains to the east of the Great Wallachia, north of the river Ialomiţa. The four eingemeindeten Fundata villages in the north, the west and Misleanu Stejaru or Păltinişu in the East, are 2-6 kilometers away from the community center. The place Perieţi located about 10 kilometers west from the county capital Slobozia.

Population and Education

2002 identified from the 3667 inhabitants, 3663 as Romanians and four as Roma.

There is a primary school in the district Misleanu and a school up to class 8 in Perieţi. More educational opportunities are in Slobozia about 10 km away. Part of the population, however, has dropped out of school after 6 or even 4 years.

Economy and Transport

The main industry is agriculture and animal husbandry. Crops are corn and grain. In addition, there are a number of small businesses that are in the construction industry often.

Through the village runs Perieţi the European Route 60, one of the two main arteries of the east-west connection from Bucharest to Constanta. The station of the railway line Urziceni - Ţăndărei on the territory of the municipality, located in the eingemeindeten village Fundata.
