Permanent crop

Permanent crops are under EU state aid rules ( Article 2, point c Regulation ( EC) No 795 /2004)

  • Not included in rotational crops
  • Remaining on the surfaces for a period of at least 5 years
  • Supply and recurring income
  • Including nurseries
  • Except those listed in Article 2, letter d of Regulation ( EC) No 795/2004 listed perennial crops and nurseries of such multiannual crops.

The opposite of a permanent culture change is called culture.

As permanent crops are for example

  • Fruit and vegetables that grow on trees and shrubs and no perennial culture are: apples, pears, quinces, apricots, cherries, peaches, nectarines, plums, damsons, sloes, grapes, almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts, chestnuts, figs, kiwi, Aronia ( black chokeberry ), capers
  • Hops
  • Christmas trees outside the forest

According to the CIA World Factbook, Germany possessed 0.59% permanent crops in 2001.
